Energy Internet has recently÷‌σ₩ been "very hot"γ¥‍  in the energy circle, with₹¥ the concept of &quo¶£¥‌t;Internet +", t ××he traditional energy industry seems tλ≥o have ushered in a w&≥ave of innovative thinking. Also in ≥↓<≤the context of the energy revol•≈≠™ution, we must open u"$∑p a new way to change the mode of ener™Ωgy development, and the prospects of t£♣his road in the end how? Mor♣σ e attention has been drawn to the •φindustry and outside.

"The energy Inter≤¥σnet is a high degree of integratio₩↕n of multiple types of energy networks φ↓and transport networks" "≤≤;The basic concept o↕♠α•f the energy Internet and smart g✔↑'rid is the same, and the content can no₩♠ ✔t be found in principle different&quo"∏₩₽t; "The energy Internet is T₽₩↓he energy Internet is a strong  →↕ smart grid with ultra§∑-high voltage grid as the backσγbone (channel), with clean energy tran©±smission as the leading, global interc£←εonnection and ubiquitous," vario÷♠us understandings and interpreta&±‍tions of the energy Internet have a<✔ppeared, and people are not ‍≥€sure what to think about it.

Energy Internet con£βcept was born ten years ×€∑©ago

From 22 to 24 April, at the foot o♣ f Fragrant Hill in Beijing ‍, a number of academicians a§™ ±nd more than 50 experts and scholar'↔↑§s participated in an academβ≤ic conference on the theme of∑ ® energy Internet. Confe±¥rence parties on the concept and strε"↓"ucture of the energy I✘nternet, energy Internet operation m•§‌±echanism and market mo↓♠♠del and other topics ∞×εfor in-depth discussion, which is so♦•↔ far China's academic communit₽÷&↓y for the energy Internet at≈©§ the highest level of a sem∑‍£‍inar meeting.

When did the concept of energy Intern≈≈₩βet come into being? Cao Jun→✔wei, a researcher at Tsi>'↑nghua University's₹γ Institute of Information Technology÷♣>, who has long been engaged ♠ ↓✔in cross-disciplinary researc≠  h on information and energy a ₩nd power technologies, believes tλ>hat in 2004, The Economist mag®>"azine published an article called $✘↑÷"buildingtheenergyinteφ÷>rnet", which is the earlie§∑γ₹st literature to formally put forwΩ✘•♥ard this viewpoint.

In 2008, Thomas Friedman, a famous Amβ→erican journalist and winner↓€λ of three Pulitzer Prizes for journal✘∑→ism, introduced the energy internet σ↓in his monograph "The World¶φ☆♣ is Hot, Flat and Crowde¶↓d", which is also t¶≥he initial exploration of the energ✘←y internet at the economics level.®₽σβ

Explorations at the technical lev→↔•εel also took place around 2008, when > ∑Germany put forward the E-ENERGY prog®δramme, with an investment o♦f about 140 million euβ♦®ros, to make full use of  ‍"∞information and communic±">¥ation technologies to solve the₩δ new problems faced by the♠♥ future power system dominatedγ≈♦ by distributed energy supp¶σly, with the aim of creating a b¶↑rand new energy Internet from t"↓←♦he distribution network to the ci£×©rculating power grid.φ♥✔

In 2009, in the U.S. c×λ&∏ity of Dubuque, IBM and the governmentδ‍α∞ began to build the fσ✘irst smart city with an intelligent e& ¥®nergy network, in order to create  →a connection between al↑±∏≤l the resources of t∑Ωhe city, including water, electric→♣♦ity, oil, gas, transp€‍§‌ort, public services and  ¶αso on.

The energy Internet has attracte§&‍d widespread attention in the ±♣€country, probably more bec ≤ε≤ause of Rifkin's book "The Thi≈'rd Industrial Revolu tion", which imagines t®$✔$hat "in the upcoming er✔↔a, we will need to create₽φ×Ω an 'energy Internet<γ∏', so that hundreds of milli→≥ons of people can produce green ren"↔→ewable energy in their homes, office ♠∏s and factories". gree'∞↓n renewable energy."

The concept became≤ ♦© more widely known whe↓Ω≈ n Liu Zhenya, Chairman of Statλλ≠e Grid Corporation, put forward the↓₹ idea of "building a global✔φ energy internet to serve the  "₽sustainable developmen£φ≥σt of human society" at an ≥↕≤academic conference in Wasε$hington, D.C., in 2014.

Different Perspectives on the Enπ←ergy Internet

Liu Zhenya proposed in ♦≤±his book "Global Energy In₹≠←ternet" that the global energy I α≈nternet is composed of transcontinent©♥ 'al and transnational bac§>∏kbone grids and power grids o→λ•f various voltage levels in ÷Ω∞various countries, connecti©ng "one pole and one road" ("'the Arctic and the Equator) withλ'π¥ large energy bases,σ₹ adapting to the needs of accessing v&φarious distributed power sour'©ε↕ces, and being able to trans¶εΩmit renewable energy sources such as wi£&βnd energy, solar energy a•¥nd ocean energy to various typπ₽es of users, as well as providing aδ♥ service for the sustainable dev∏λelopment of human society. It Ω •can transmit renewable energy such a£↓s wind energy, solar en& Ωergy and ocean energy to various type ®'φs of users, and is a global energy al$§>location platform with a wide ran≠☆±ge of services, strong configuration " capability, high safety and≤ε∞÷ reliability, and green and low-carα£λπbon.

"The energy Internet in my mind©λ≈ is a comprehensive ☆✘ αenergy network composed ≈ε±of physical systems, nam÷σely the power grid, gas★¶± network, heat network, transpo""♣rt network, etc." Xue Yusheng, ac ≠±ademician of the Chin↓€"×ese Academy of Engineeγσ∑ring and honorary pre&₹≠"sident of the State Grid E>÷≤♠lectric Power Academy, also₩↔✔☆ offered his views.

Professor Yu Zitao, dire<"α←ctor of the Institute of Therma₽£<★l Engineering and Power✔≤↓ Systems at Zhejiang ≠✘"University, believes that th∞✘‌₹e development of a high-efficienc←×≠y energy network will take the r★$oute of high-efficiency gradient ut"★←&ilisation, in which the energy←≠± of systems that can independently ×₩ output electricity, heat∑'§α and cold will be used inδ←δ a gradient manner, so thaΩ≠γt the comprehensive utilisation ra∞σ¶↓te will reach more than 90%. ‍π

Academician Yu Yixin, on the other h¶"¶>and, said that the basic×σ¶' concepts of the energy Internet §&and the smart grid that δ ♣we have already discussed are the same,$✘∏® and the content can↓♠ not be found to be differen↓σ±t in principle, including intelli↔↑gent universal transformer☆∑s such as electrical energy routers.£&↓•

"Due to the diff≥∏♦erent perspectives that everyone standδs on, different understanding✘$s and views are generat↓ ed, but from the academic level, it ∑∑is not possible to di™✘♠'stinguish who is right and♦ ® who is wrong, because the ÷¥✘✘work can be carried out from diff¶♠✘ erent levels." Cao Junweiαγ¥ told reporters that th∞↕'←e development and cons₽↕>truction of the energy Internet is a ‍ ♦ complex systematic project, β✘εwhich needs to start from ₽₽the system architecture, technolγ←ogy research and development€♣, standards development, p↔₽olicy design and other asp¥α≠ects and links, and the" α way should be to take the road ≥♣₹<of hierarchical grading, from₩₽‍ small scale to large scale, from☆★π‍ simple to complex, from experimenta&★&l to demonstration, and then to ♥₹ the maturity of the pr™≈omotion.

  SmartGrid or SmarterGr∑ε'×id

Although there are a lot♣✔  of views on the energ£₽πy Internet, there is an obvious cπ∞•πommon point is that the smart gr♠ε₽id will play an important role i®‍n building the energy Internet, so und±'¥™erstanding the content of the smar♥ ≤♣t grid is crucial to u±∞←nderstanding the energy Internet.

In fact, the industry and ↕π outside the concept ♥₩of smart grid understa±↔ φnding has long existed differen  t views, whether it is sm↔☆artgrid or smartergri£↔φ÷d (smarter grid), pe σ↕ople have their own views.

"The essence of the sm ™art grid should be optimisa₹γ→§tion. The future of the grid, ‍®∞we can not rely main€‌ly on people scheduling, must be thro↕®Ω±ugh information technology ≈£and computer science for automat→♥€ic regulation and control,©©σ to achieve the whole powe♠$♣$r system completely closed loop. Forγ☆& example, the current sche≤λ•σduling in Shanghai, has been initially ↕♦↕done." Lu Qiang, an academician &↕★of the Chinese Academy of Scienε>☆®ces and a professor at Tsinghu ε₹§a University, put forward the &∞∏concept of smart grid with∞® hybrid cybernetics, ar≤≥guing that the entry of communicatσ↔πion and mathematics into the cl‍₽assical power system gave♣✘© rise to the third indu∑∏₽strial revolution of the powφ'♦§er system, which gave riseα™ to the smart power system.

"By 2020 the State G ≈ αrid Corporation will have fully b₽ uilt a unified 's®€∑∏trong smart grid' with techno™•logy and equipment fully reachiγ©αng the international advanced level.&φ≥≈quot; According to Shu Yinbiao,§↑★ general manager of the State Gri₹✘≈↔d Corporation, China' ¥s smart grid includes six links in the γ±∞→power system, namely power generati♠ εon, transmission, subλ€station, distribution, poweε☆↑≈r consumption and dispatching, and₽★✔ is characterised by the &↑≈‍quot;smart" technologieγδ¶s of informatisation, digitisat♥✔πion, automation and interaction. China&₩§#39;s smart grid is first of al∏∑§l a strong power grid, in which, wit ∏Ωh a long distance, large€≤ capacity transmission characteri₹♣stics of the ultra-high volt$≥₽>age grid will become th÷λ>φe core link, which is determin©‍$ed by the stage of China&#σ≠αλ39;s economic developmen✘≥☆‍t, the centralised distribution of en∑₽ergy characteristics±σ"™.

"Smart grid is a dev¥β•elopment goal." Academician oα™"f the Chinese Academy o∏∑÷f Engineering, the Southern Power ©←Grid Corporation Expert Commit ≠∑tee Director Li Li Li, said i±÷εn an interview with reporters, th  •e development of energy and ¥"electricity have 3 l≥φaws to follow, including the law of↕♣ science and technology development, th∑<γe law of social development a<§★nd the law of market development.

China's famous pow$✘☆≠er system analysis, planning and§₽§£ simulation experts, academ'₩ician of the Chinese Academy of Enginee÷✔≥ring Yu Yixin believes that th✘γ₩e smart grid will change the way p→§‍ eople live and work like the In€✘↓★ternet, the realization ofγσ∞ the smart grid requires a long t↑¶ransition, sustained research and∏¥ development and a variety of tec★↕ hnologies for long-term coexistenc•'e.

What is certain is th‍Ω•at in the context of the third indusγ≤trial revolution, the integ§↓™βration of power grid and information t↕® "echnology is an inevitable trend, π←whether we focus on the curren¶™§t smartergrid or our ideal smart β∑‌grid, to create a highly <π★☆efficient grid will be the cor∞≥e content of the ene♥Ω$rgy Internet.

The impact of Internet thinking on ×≈÷energy

Energy is a tradition→₹al industry, the Internet is an em☆☆erging industry, the integratio↔>↔n of the two will certainl§¶y bring the concept of collision, t"≥he concept of change may be the begin✔‍ning of technical and inst₹✔™itutional change.

"The traditional power indust₹→πry by the natural monopol≥≈y characteristics and security c ∞onstraints, the sensitivity of ↑δ≤αinformation technology is  ©$ not enough." Li Li Li academicia©₹₩∞n interviewed by a r↑Ω÷eporter expressed such a ≥φ♦ view.

"If the grid intellige↑↑‍nt or in the traditional grid★Ω•φ architecture through₹‍‌ information technology and intellige©¶©nt means, to solve thπ★e problem of equipment utilisation¥"♦, security and reliability, power qua÷÷lity and renewable energy access, ↕≠the fundamental difference betwe≈↕✔←en the energy Internet is the u©&se of Internet concepts, me‌★©thods and technologies to achieve₽φγ a major change in the energy £φinfrastructure architecture itself, m≥←aking the energy of op↓←→en interconnection an≠←£d exchange Sharing can ¥≠be as convenient as shar↔€∞ing information on the Inteσ¥ rnet." Cao Junwei said.

Openness, interconnection, r≠$↓σeciprocity and sharing are the♥™ characteristics of Internet λ> thinking, while the traditio"< nal energy industry places more >✘<emphasis on production,ε§  professionalism and secur±δity. A number of expe&•rts believe that the development of di→§£stributed energy has given ♦✔‌$the energy industry an opportunity to tε€♣ ransform, with the tra∏‌≠‍ditional power industry emphasises δπ•☆the development mode™₽±® of generation, transmission,≠<↔ distribution and tran‌ sformation, distributed ener÷∞gy makes the energy flow, power flow c≤♠ hanges, the operation of the÷‍φ  local microgrid needs to be ope←"φn, sharing and other conce∞€pts embedded in the energy and po¥γ™ wer industry needs to face.

The Internet is invisib>€le and borderless, and the develop ment of energy Internet will <☆&also be open and ceilingless, o λnly a large amount of innova≤♥tion and practice will bring →§✘about a brand new eneεσrgy industry.
